There’s a long standing joke that Miami – past glory and all – can’t even get people to come to their home games. It is a long and arduous process to have to complete more steps than 1) roll off stove on which one passed out, 2) sniff test clothes, 3) embark on 50-yard journey, 4) arrive at stadium. USF has largely the same problem. Getting you and 5 foul-smelling fraternity brothers into your ’97 Jeep Cherokee to attempt to get to Raymond James Stadium with enough time to consume, consume, consume can be hell after the typical Friday night of a college student. Therefore, neither school rivals the big boys when it comes to overwhelming, consistent home game attendance. And the Hurricanes have just as much trouble on the road. Despite being off to its best start since 2005, Miami is sending 3,000 of its 8,000-ticket allotment back to USF. The Canes could be 9-2 and ranked somewhere around the top 10 at that point, but are unable to get fans to travel to Tampa on a holiday weekend. You may be saying to yourself “that’s the reason, it’s a holiday weekend,” but that’s not good enough. It’s Thanksgiving weekend and that means football.
Miami has a good team again and appears to be a program on the rise. USF got out of its funk with a win over West Virginia and is in good shape to only have 2 losses at that point as well. This is a good in-state matchup most Miami fans seem content to miss. Of course, for those of you who favor the Bulls, it seems like a lot more tickets are about to become available.

How dare you TBG. Don't you know that it's just that those who back the University of Miami also take Thanksgiving extra seriously? Its not just a day anymore. Much like my birthday, Thanksgiving to the fighting Ibisesises is an event that can't be contained in just one day. Its a long weekend at minimum. Have some sensitivity and tact TBG. Good lord.
I'm Canadian KP (or at least I was in a former life). Thanksgiving was weeks ago.
