I’ve been informed there is a bar with TVs at the wedding I will be at. There may be a god after all.Northwestern @ Iowa – 12:00 – The Hawkeyes are going to lose a game sooner or later. You can only win so many close ones. Odds are it won’t be Northwestern to bring them down, but I have a hard time picturing a 12-0 Iowa team in the near future.
Virginia @ Miami – 12:00 – After a close loss and a close win, the Hurricanes should get back on track against the Cavaliers. UVA is having one of those up-and-down seasons fans dread. Miami should keep them where they are at the moment…down.
South Carolina @ Arkansas – 12:21 – With the SEC East wrapped up, the Gamecocks are just playing for pride at this point. Are they really as good as 6-3 might indicate or is this team in danger of dropping 2 in a row before facing #1 Florida in 2 weeks.
Navy @ Notre Dame – 2:30 – 2 years ago, the Midshipmen beat the Fighting Irish. Last season, they left with a loss, but played well and kept it close. This year, Navy is once again a good team, but Notre Dame might have improved too much.
LSU @ Alabama – 3:30 – The big one. If the Tigers can shock the world (although at this point it might not really be that surprising) and pull off the upset, the control their destiny and have a shot at ending up in the national championship game. Realistically, if either of these teams wins out, you can pencil them in. LSU might need a little help because of their loss to Florida, but don’t count them out just yet. This has great game written all over it.
Ohio State @ Penn State – 3:30 – The Nittany Lions are in a bad spot at the moment. They may actually be rooting for Iowa to win out and get a shot in the national title game. If the Hawkeyes lose only 1 game, they head to the Rose Bowl and Penn State has to keep their fingers crossed for a BCS game. Of course none of that matters if they can’t get past the Buckeyes on Saturday.
Oregon State @ Cal – 7:00 – For selfish reasons really. I bought Oregon State and sold Cal. Go Beavers!
Vanderbilt @ Florida – 7:15 – I’ll be well into Crown and Coke 3 or 4 at the time the game starts. There is a bar stool with my name on it.
FSU @ Clemson – 7:45 – Think about this for a second. FSU had a winning record at only one point this entire season (at 2-1 after beating BYU). They can get there again this weekend, but Clemson is no pushover.
Oklahoma @ Nebraska – 8:00 – This used to be one great rivalry. It’s lost some of its luster in recent years with the Cornhuskers trying to find an identity. One of the teams still comes in ranked, but just barely (the Sooners at #24). On paper, it does look like a good matchup though.
